Just learned about a $100 rebate from Citizens gas & Vectren for homeowners who buy a new high efficient gas water heater with an energy efficiency rating of .62 or higher. Most Energy Star rated appliances should qualify. Rebate is even higher for a tankless water heater system, plus a tax credit of 30% of purchase price. Take this into consideration before buying a cheap water heater.
