Study: Lilly Has $8 Billion Impact on Indiana
A new study released today by the Indiana Business Research Center at Indiana University's Kelley School of Business is providing some details on just how much Indianapolis-based Eli Lilly and Co. (NYSE:LLY) means to the state of Indiana. The report finds the pharmaceutical firm contributed about $8 billion to the state's economy in 2007, accounting for 3.3 percent of the gross state product. Lilly is Indiana's sixth largest employer with more than 14,000 in its work force. The study shows for every Lilly employee, there are an additional 1.8 jobs that can be attributed to the company's presence in the state.
