It seems appropriate to follow the Indiana State Fair "year of the pig" with the 15th Annual Rib America Festival.

Labor Day Weekend, Friday 9/3 - Monday 9/6
Military Park - downtown Indy at the corner of New York and West St.

You can actually get in for FREE if you get there before 5pm on Friday and before 1pm on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.  Otherwise, you are paying a whopping $5 admission!!!!

I'm not sure which to get more excited about - the Ribs or the Music????!!!!!!!
